Serenity and joy, whimsy and longing. Those are the words that come to me when asked about my favorite
place by the sea. For many years, that special stretch of sand that I call home has been my constant companion,
my shelter in times of stormy weather, my parade on a sunny day and a steadfast reminder about the goodness of
living in harmony and balance. No matter what your cares, it only takes of moment of digging your toes in sugary
white sand, smelling the salty breeze, hearing the palm trees wave their branches and seeing the glistening water
to remind you that life is a series of captured moments. Those moments are what you make them.
Cherishing those instances is what I strive for in my jewelry pieces. Jewelry, by its very nature, is a textural
experience. It is a sound, a jingle of movement, a feeling imparted. I am inspired by the citrus smell of
margaritas on the deck of a beachside restaurant, and the beauty of children laughing in the surf, their sand
buckets and toys strewn carelessly about. I revel in the colors of beachside communities, pale pastels decorated
with blinding white shutters, open-air markets with brightly colored wares and the casual passer-by wearing flip
flops and smelling of suntan lotion.
I aim for those reflections when I design. I want you to feel that you have escaped to the beach when you wear my
art. If it is a place you have a bond with as well, I want you to be reminded of that special connection, to bring the
smile of a recollected memory to your face. I strive to bring the beauty and sunlight of the beach to every day
wearable art. If I stir the faintest remembrance of your time by the ocean, then I have done my job. Come along
